Jun. 19th, 2005 @ 11:48 pm recording finished...sort of
Okay here's the deal. We're finished with the recording part of the full-length. All that's left is the mixing/mastering, process. Hopefully, we will have a semi-final copy ready for taking to Cornerstone. However, we will not have time to get it mastered before then, so the copy that we will consider our final copy and have a release show for will not be ready for about a month. If you want a semi-final copy, you have to come to Cornerstone. We're taking 100 of them with us and coming back with none.
We're currently in the process of getting buttons made.
That's it for now...check out our myspace area for show updates!

About this Entry
Jun. 6th, 2005 @ 01:15 am SHOWS
Here are the updated dates for a couple of our upcoming shows... check out our MySpace area for more details:
www.myspace.com/offeringbyfire

June 11: We are no longer able to play at the Cole Porter Festival in Peru

June 15: C.W. Mount Community Center in Tipton

June 17: Tha Roots in Kokomo

June 18: DK's in Kokomo and The Fireshaq in Greentown

June 24: The Door in Kokomo

Thanks to everyone who came out the house and recorded gang vocals with us Saturday night. The tracks turned out fantastically. Thanks also to Joel, who tirelessly makes us sound way better than we actually are. We have a few more vocal tracks to record and a pair of guitar tracks that could use cleaning-up.

We're doing some more recording this weekend on Saturday and Sunday so, hopefully *crosses fingers, we'll finish things up this weekend and the rest is in Joel's soft, yet firm hands. Thanks again for being such cool people!

About this Entry
May. 26th, 2005 @ 08:39 pm A super lame copy/paste update.
The only things different about this post from the last one is this introduction, the lack of information for the Wednesday show that we already played, which turned out okay...considering...and there's an address for the skatepark we're playing in Muncie on Friday! So, check it out and come to the shows!

Friday, May 27th @ Life Skatepark in Muncie
2200 N. Walnut
Muncie, IN 47303
$4.00 admission
Music starts at 7:00 pm
with A Poetic Nothing
Paradox
St. Nowhere
We're not sure if you'll be allowed to skate or bike while we're playing, but you can call the park at this number to ask. (765)287.7777

ALSO ON FRIDAY THE 27th @ Westfield Friends Church
324 S. Union St.
Westfield, IN 46074
$1.00 admission
Music starts at 7:00 pm
with Wait til Wednesday
Two Birds Kill One Stone
Farewell Avery
Andrew Can't Skate (final show for ACS)

If you want to come to both shows on friday, then go to Muncie first. We'll play there at around 7:15 until around 8:00 then we'll head on over to Westfield and play whenever we get there I guess. I think we're second to last in that line-up. Also, look for some killer shows coming up in June. We have a couple of double booked dates there too. Thanks again for reading the journal. Spread the word!

May. 19th, 2005 @ 08:22 pm A Show At Clinton Central High School
Current Music: The new Haste The Day song!
This Saturday, the 21st. Sounds fun right!? It sure does, and we're going to have the info up here as soon as I can beat it out of Adam's skull. So, be patient little ones, patience is a virtue. Also, recording is going well. We will soon get back on track and finish up the bass guitar and the vocals. Once again...patience. Not that you're ACTUALLY waiting for it to come out, but this is OUR journal and we can make it seem like we're a band in demand if we want to. Also, we apparently have a myspace account now that I haven't even bothered to look at. so, I'm going to go check that out right now, and you should too! I don't even know how to check it out...a little help?

I'll go ahead and post this weekend's schedule of events right here for all to see:

FRIDAY, May 13th

4:00 pm: We begin recording our new songs and spend the whole day doing just that.

8:00 pm (approx.): Most likely we'll all go to the local Chinese restaurant in Greentown and make ourselves sick on Bar-B-Q beef sticks and General Tso's and egg rolls and...soy sauce.

9:00 pm: Begin recording again until we all fall asleep or die.

SATURDAY, May 14th

NOON: Wake up and begin the recording process again.

5:30 pm: Leave for the show (details below)

Someone's House
9511 N County Road 800 E
Albany, IN 47320
$2.00 admission
Music starts at 7:00 pm
With: Far Be It From Me
and, apparently, some other bands

2:00 am (approx.): Arrive home from the show and pass out on my dirty floor.

SUNDAY, May 15th

NOON: Wake up and begin the recording process again, hopefully finishing everything before the show.

5:30 pm: Leave for the show (details below)

Trinity United Methodist Church
303 N. Walnut St.
Hartford City, IN 47348
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
with A Poetic Nothing (yep...just two bands at this show)
FREE admission
Food and drinks will be available for purchase

MIDNIGHT: Arrive home from the show and possibly finish up some last minute recording tasks.

Well, there you have it. That's our weekend. I hope yours is as fun as I hope ours will be...right?

Thanks for reading! We hope to see you all at the shows this weekend!

In Him,

Wil and OBF
About this Entry
May. 11th, 2005 @ 02:49 am Two shows this weekend
Current Music: regrettably; Fall Out Boy on Conan O'Brien
Hey everyone, sorry about Adam's crappy post below. If you tried to use mapquest with the incomplete address Adam posted, then you probably had the same problem I did and were not very happy with the results. I'll do my best to get an ACCURATE address and a venue name (unless it's just someone's house) as soon as I can so you can ACTUALLY use mapquest and get to the show. You see, I don't think Adam ever intended for anyone to get to the show in the first place, and that's why he posted it the way he did. So if you come to the show, beat the crap out of him and all will be right with the world. Meanwhile, check out the info for our show on Sunday!

Sunday, May 15th
Trinity United Methodist Church
303 N. Walnut St.
Hartford City, IN 47348
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
with A Poetic Nothing (yep...just two bands at this show)
FREE admission
Food and drinks will be available for purchase

See? That's how you post a show! If there are any questions about either show, please e-mail us at offeringbyfire@hotmail.com and we'll get back with you. Also, I was just kidding...don't beat Adam up. He meant well. Much love to Chaz.
